Q: How do I STOP auto-till tags when saving documents?

Please!  I'm asking again.  Please STOP auto-filling my tags as I try to save documents.  You can't spell.  You can't read my mind.  You don't know what you're doing.  You're unwanted.  You get in the way.  You aggravate.  You slow me down.  You make my typing inaccurate.  Correcting your stupid, invasive errors is maddening, a waste of time, and it's desperately NOT wanted.  I'm tired of FIGHTING with my beloved computer!!!

I know you can allow customers to intelligently and efficiently create their own relevant tags.  I've seen it done.  I've lived it.  I've worked.  I enjoyed it before the lunacy you call a Mavericks "UPgrade."  There's little about Mavericks that has upped your value, Apple.

I know how to type.   PLEASE, for God's sake, let me do it!!!

No, actionmarker, you miss the question altogether.  I DO want to use tags.  I've created a highly efficient file system based on tags and it's worked flawlessly for years. . . until "geniuses" ruined everything with the extremely expensive "free" Mavericks "upgrade."

Now I cannot type tags anymore.  I try but the Mavericks idiot takes over and screws up everything I try to type.  The entire process of intelligently saving a file has become really stupid since the Mavericks monster rode into town.

I have no desire to save tags.  I can type them much faster than my computer can retrieve them.  Saving tags seems like a really stupid, useless idea to me.

I want to turn off the auto-complete headache so I can type my own tags, accurately, speedily, and efficiently.  How do I turn off the auto-complete train wreck?

As for saving tags,  I just don't.  It serves no purpose.  I do, indeed, see a long list of gibberish Mavericks has created but I don't touch that junk.  It serves no purpose and it wastes my time.

How do I turn off the tags auto-complete lunacy?

    Making any sense yet?

No, benwiggy.  If I keep typing, Mavericks keeps screwing around with what I try to type.  Then it presents me with a long, colorful but stupid list of useless junk.  It blocks my inability to type correctly.  I want to turn off that invasion.  Do you know how to turn off the inaccurate, invasive, stupid  auto-complete "feature"?

    Thank you.

No, Eric Root, I will get no answers if I submit feedback.  I've been submitting feedback for months and all I get is silence from the weirdos who created this mess.

And, no, I will not buy something to fix an operating system that was obviously not ready to hit the market.  I'm pretty well convinced Apple launched this poorly developed OS just to get people to buy fixes.  I'm not doing it.

Yes, I'm saying that my computer is creating tags of gibberish instead of allowing me to type intelligent tags.

Yes, I'm hoping that since my computer is creating useless, invasive tags, I do expect a fix.

Do you know what that fix is?

THAT IS THE PROBLEM!!!!  The problem started with 10.9 and it persists.  It's destroyed everything I did before it.

HOW DO I TURN OFF THE AUTO-COMPLETE TAG BS THAT LAUNCHED WITH 10.9????????????

Tags were first implemented in Mavericks. They did not exist before then. There were 7 coloured labels, but they are different. So I don't know how you could have created a highly efficient tagging system before Mavericks.

I did ask you to run EtreCheck in an earlier post, so we could see the results from that. It's hard to help when we're not in front of the machine, when we only have your slightly agressive and not entirely succinct words.

    Once again:

    1. Mavericks does not CREATE tags. If that is happening (and it's still not clear) then that is not normal, which therefore suggests some other agent than Mavericks is at work.

    2. Mavericks's auto-filling of existing Tag names should NOT be an impediment. Again, if it is, then something is wrong, which can hopefully be fixed.

However, more INFORMATION would be useful. A screenshot, for instance, of the problem.

Read again, Barney.  I do not have tags created by "someone else."  Mavericks is creating them.

I don't want to delete them.  I don't want them being created in the first place.

Once again, how do I turn off the auto-complete tag headache?

    THAT is the question.

Benwiggy, I've been using keyword tags on my stored files for years.  Mavericks did "first implement" them.

And, yes, Mavericks DOES CREATE tags.

No, I will not supply more information because you aren't understanding the information I've supplied in exhaustive quantity and detail.  Obviously, you have no solution to offer.  Please don't bother responding further.  I only want to hear from people who can offer a viable solution based on the full body of details I've already supplied repeatedly.

There are a few plusses to Mavericks but they are nowhere good enough to outweigh all the bad, time-wasting, aggravating, throw-back flaws, glitches, crashes, freezes, and other chaos that was unleashed when Mavericks was installed.

You should then Revert to a previous OS X version

As this is so important to you I suggest you stop jacking other peoples threads and starting your own, you may get better help that way.

Stop using hash, for a week or so, then try to describe your problem objectively and calmy, instead of shooting and being stressed, that may help make it better to understand for everybody here .

I don't want to delete them....

First things first.  Regardless of the "who" that created them, you have "a long list of gibberish" values in your tags list, yes?

The place to start (if you wish to get an improvement in your workflow) is to delete each "gibberish" tag.  (Previous posts have given info. on how this is done so I won't repeat that detail here.)  Myself, I have only seven tag values so the chance of auto-fill being a bother is minimal.  It makes sense that if you remove the gibberish values your system has learned (regardless of how they got there) then you'll have fewer problems with what's being "suggested" as you type.

Yes, it's a bother to do the deletions, but that's a one-time step.

Please do not yell back at me that I don't understand what you are asking.  I do understand.  At present what you want (to turn off auto fill) does not appear to be available.  That's the answer to that question.  The next question is:  Do you want to use this thread to improve your situation (in spite of that answer), or do you just want to grouse at all the folks here who are trying to help you achieve a better result?

If the former, people seem to be infinitely eager to be helpful with suggestionsl; if the latter, have a nice day.

That's exactly what I've been looking for.  I didn't know if it was faulty programming or if I were overlooking a way to turn off the junk.  You've let me know you can't turn off the junk, either, so I'll stop seeking a means of turning it off and pray Apple will fix the fautly programming someday.  Someday soon.

    Thank you.

From your description of what is happening to you, and what we experience, you have a problem with your system.

Apple will likely not provide any fix for what is wrong with your system as it appears to be an isolated problem.

If your only problem is that it is auto-completing the tags, then I really doubt they would fix that just for you. It's way to valuable of a feature to remove it just for you.

It's difficult to tell what is wrong as every question is responded to with a load of horse hockey. It is pretty obvious that you cannot be helped in any way, so I would suggest you find another venue to seek help.
