Touch Screen Problem - Nano 7thGen

I have this touch screen problem in my 7th generation iPod nano. It doesn't respond to the touch. For e.g., if I tried to slide the screen to go to the next page on menu, Podcast is opened, couldn't control volume using touch, couldn't seek music, couldn't switch on Bluetooth. It just wouldn't respond!!

If I reset the iPos using power + home button. It works fine for sometime, then the issue comes back. This is so frustrating. Any suggestions/fixes?

Hello janas.59,

Our iPod Nano hardware troubleshooting guide offers some additional troubleshooting that may help get your Nano's touchscreen working again.

Touch screen does not accept input

  • Clean the screen with a microfiber polishing cloth.
  • Do not wear gloves while using the touchscreen. Do not use the touchscreen with wet hands or immediately after applying hand lotion. Moisture affects touchscreen behavior in the same manner as it affects a trackpad.
  • If you have a protective plastic sheet or film on the touchscreen, try removing it, because it may be preventing the touchscreen from working properly.
  • The current application may be unresponsive; try resetting iPod by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home buttons simultaneously for a least six seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
  • Sync with iTunes and restore the iPod.
