Book Samples in iBooks

Hi recently bought a new macbook pro (OS X 10.9.2) and I also have a iPhone 5s and I was wanted to know if book samples I purchase in iBooks store are kept in the iCloud. All the other books I purchase are synced across my devices except the samples.
