i just downloaded a book "made for ibooks" after downloading the ibooks app. However when I click on it it say it is "unable to open". I thought it was a download issue, and went to download it again, but don't have that option, as it says it is "downloaded".

I would recommend deleting the problematic book and downloading it again by accessing your previous purchases. Here are a couple articles that will help you with this process.
Before you delete, find out if you'll be able to download the book you deleted again (it depends on where you live). To delete a book:
You'll have the option to delete your book on all your devices.
- Tap the iBooks app.
- View your Purchased Books collection.
- Tap Edit.
- Tap any books you want to delete.
- Tap Delete.
