Why do i have a lot of "other" storage?

I just restored my iPod touch 5. It was having problems syncing doubles of all my music. I restored my iPod and re synced all my music. All my music synced properly but now I have over 11 GB of "other" storage. How do i get rid of the other storage. I feel like it might be backed up data.

iPod touch, iOS 7.1.1

Maybe, but usually that much "other" indicates corrupted files. The only thing that worked for me was to save my stuff from the iPod to my computer via the cable-- make backups. Then with the cable through iTunes Restore to New, a factory restore; a total wipe. Then add back my stuff from the backup copies. It's a pain but it works! Good luck, Cheers.

What is the Other on my iPhone and How to Remove It

First try:

"First you go settings/general/usage/music/then left swipe over music and press delete and you would think it deletes your music but it doesn't instead it deletes your other but make sure your ipod is connected to a computer while doing this"

Next, usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.

To restore to factory settings/new iPod see:
