Hi all,
All the menu items on my ATV1 have come back, and I successfully began a download of a rented movie; however, the download is sporadic and stops at random intervals. I can to go Settings / Downloads and click on Check for Downloads and it will continue - have yet to see if it can do right to the end. It's just a hassle.

No, I haven't noticed any problems with my internet; however, iTunes is the only large download things I'm doing at the moment - but I did download Mac OS Maverik last night and it all went well.

i get the same and also i cannot view any movies! and the interface that supposly is corrected only shows TV seires and not movies! i still cannot even play any of my own movies at all not even from the drive of the apple tv, or e ven from my mac! whats goign on apple since steve jobs died and decided anything that steve jobs rejected like the unfriendly menus to make them unfuctional as well... his bones are shaking 6 feet under! get serious!

I had to disconnect all links between the ATV and computers, unplug the ATV, plug it back in again and re-connect all computers.
The only lingering problem I have is that I have to soft-boot the ATV when I plug the external HDD back in the USB port before it will recognise it. I do have a 1TB HDD, so I always expect it to take a while to be recognise, but unless I restart the ATV i don't get access to it.
If you still have problems after that, I'd suggest starting another thread.

I am encountering error -3253 as well. If I leave it alone it will eventually download my selection but it takes a very long time.
It doesn't matter if I use wifi or ethernet, I still have to click on Check for Downloads at least five times for each download.
Same problem here. Download error -3253 every few % of an HD rental, makes watching a very tedious experience. Used to work perfectly before great outage.
Apple you should do better than this!
