Q: My iPhone died when I upgrading it to iOS 7.1.1

It‘s now in recovery mode. I try to use iTunes to restore. But iTunes prompts error.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.1.1

My iPhone 5s is also bricked and forced into recovery mode The Apple software update server appears swamped atm, and is showing 9 hours remaining to update. Sigh.

I had the same issue where my phone "bricked" after updating to 7.1.1. It wouldn't update and put my iphone 4s in restore mode. I tried to restore it on my computer but it kept giving me errors (connection error, 3014 error, re-cycling to restore again). Nothing seemed to work. The Apple tech that helped me was helpful and we tried a few things. Finally I had to use a different computer with a fresh Itunes download and that restored my iphone.

I did lose everything on that iphone but luckily it didn't have much on it. I feel for those that had their lives on it.

Hope this helps someone out.
