I tried to download the new Security Update 2014-002 today via system preferences/software update. The update completes downloading, but just before the install a message pops up saying the update can't be saved due to it being corrupt/being tampered or manipulated. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Does anyone know what is causing this to happen and how to fix it?

After restarting the computer in normal mode, redownload the update.

You are downloading this update directly from the App Store, correct?
Same problem here and yes downloading direct from App Store
Surely not necessary or desirable. Is it corrupt or not ?
First, get the standalone http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1738 Then boot into Safe Mode and install it from there.
