Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

I have a mac & now a mac book air, how do I stop receiving emails to the mac but keep them on the macbook air useing same email address?

I have a mac & have now got a mac book air. I have been getting emails to both but now want to stop getting the to the mac. How do I do this with the same email address?

MacBook Air, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

You could simply erase the account on the Mac.


On your Mac, go to: Mail / Preferences /Accounts / Account Information.

Select the account and click - (minus sign).

You will no longer receive emails, nor will you be able to send emails with that account.


Alternatively try this:

Erase the info in the field "Incoming Mail Server:"


With respect to the latter, I have never tried this myself, but there is no risk here. If you change your mind you can re-enter the information.
