I have a select Apple LW 360 and MBP late 2011 or iMac working on 10.9.2.
Can you tell me how to connect the printer to the MBP and iMac, and what we need is a cable.
Also in this case, do we need a special driver as it is an older printer.

Be prepared to carry out experiments.
The LaserWriter Select 360 is a PostScript Level 2 and PCL 5 printer with LocalTalk, serial and parallel ports.

The printer could per se be connected to a computer via an Ethernet-to-parallel print server (over TCP/IP) or through a USB-to-parallel adapter. Even a USB-to-serial adapter could possibly be tested. However, finding suitable printer drivers may be a problem. The http://techguylabs.com/blog/get-older-printers-working-os-x-mavericks web page provides some ideas. If driver software cannot be found for the exact printer, you may want to look for something like a generic PostScript or PCL driver.

I use an Apple LaserWriter Select 300 on a MacBook Pro running 10.6.8. I print to a pdf file, then copy the pdf file to my old mac running Mac OS 9.2. I use Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0.5 to print. I have Acrobat Reader 5.x, but I have never gotten it to work.
The last time I used that model LaserWriter it was with Mountain Lion. I have yet to verify Mavericks or Yosemite. The following is from an earlier post, applicable to Mountain Lion:

The printer will appear in System Preferences > Print & Scan as "ATEN UC-1284B Printer Cable". Select LaserWriter Select 360 as its driver.
