How to stop Mail from opening

How can I stop Mail from opening?

It opens itself automatically, slowing down my system and eats away at my hard drive space. Worse still it fills it with sensitive data thats now oh so easy to access. I can't stand Mail.

Thanks

All helpful tips very much appreciated 🙂

I haven't used this before today there was some "junk" in there which word docs etc. I didn't see Mail. Current Login Items:

  • Transmission
  • BatterySqueezer
  • iTunesHelper
  • Infovox iVox Updates Checker
  • Notifier for Gmail Pro
  • Time Managment & Planning folder

Thanks for posting the picture 🙂 I'm thinking the a problem might not be at the login stage as Maill sometimes it appears on the dock long after login.

In regard to stopping the flow of incominng messages into Mail from my Gmail account. Would you know how to do this? Thank you
