'x' wants to use your "login" keychain.

Hi there!

A few months ago, my MacBook Pro needed a complete OS reboot, and the OS I'm using (OS 10.9.2) had to be re-installed. Since that happened, these messages keep popping up, very regularly (many times a day), asking me to type in my "login" keychain, for various different programmes, including Safari, Mail, and some deep files (com.aspear etc etc).

An example of one that just popped up (for mail) is below:

I really need a way of getting this to stop popping up, a) because it's annoying, and b) because I am using my Mac in a show for projections, and it would look extremely bad and unprofessional.

The show is next week! :O

Thanks in advance,

Tom

I did all of these, but I used my current/former password as my new one.

  • Open Keychain Access (you can get to it by choosing Utilities from the Go menu in the Finder).
  • From the Edit menu, choose Change Password for Keychain "login."
  • Type the former password of the account that you are currently logged in to, then click OK.
  • If you entered the correct password, a new window appears; enter the original password again in the Current Password field.
  • In the New Password field, type the password that matches your current account password.
  • Re-enter the newer password in the Verify field, then click OK.

Thanks,

Tom
