I have copies of emails on my iPad from a previous email address, I no longer have access to the original email account but want to keep a copy of the emails and email addresses. I want to do this back up so that I can prevent the annoying message that keeps popping up saying that I can't connect to the email account.

What if you create a new free Gmail account and copy all of your old mail there? That way it is saved on the Gmail servers, and you can access it anytime from any device.
I have found a good work around - back up a copy to desktop mac, then open mBox back-ups in new email account.
