Recover lost photos and videos after 7.1.1 upgrade fail

Hi,

I updated my Ipad mini this morning to 7.1.1, and after it failed to update, I tried to install again, after which it went into recovery mode. It looks like the last successful cloud backup was 6 months ago, so I have lost 6 months of photos and videos of my young baby.

Photo stream was turned on, so my question is - can I recover the lost photos/videos from photostream somehow?

Some feedback for Apple: fix your upgrade process, and if there is even an outside possibility that it will remove all my photos and videos as part of the update, make doing a full backup before the update mandatory.

Thanks,

Craig

Thanks for this! I've found and saved the file as you explained, and I've downloaded the software, however I can't see how I upload teh file into touchcopy - can you help? I've tried right clicking on the file, open with and choose touchcopy, but it just keeps looking for my iphone. Thanks!

I decided to import all the photos/videos from my iPhone to free up space, but after doing so, I was left with the black icons on my iPhone for videos and nothing imported on my Mac. I downloaded the iPhone Backup Extractor and opened up a older backup file, and was able to rescue all my videos (~300). Spending the money for the software was a no-brainer given what it allowed me to recover.

Hi,everyone.

As I know, data loss always happens because of jailbreaking, iOS updating, mistakenly deleted, or other kinds of reasons.

1. If you have backed-up before, you can directly drag your backup photos files to PC, and then check if they are there. But before this step, you are supposed to save those new data ,because when you recover the old ones from backup, then the new ones would be overwritten. And do remember to back up important information in iTunes or iCloud regularly, in case of data permanently loss and unable to find back.

2. However if you have backed-up but failed to find those photos or videos, or you have no backup before, there are always more convenient and efficient ways for you .If there is a need, please refer to these different tutorials , and choose a right one for yourself :

Tutorial Two : *******

Actually, you can just use iTunes to recover deleted photos from iPhone.

Here are the steps:

Click the "File" menu and select "Devices" > "Restore from Back up".

Or open the iOS device's "Summary" tab. There are two ways to access this: Click the device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper right corner. The device button will then be visible.)

From any view in iTunes, click the "View" menu and select "Show Sidebar". Select your iOS device in iTunes under "Devices. Click the "Restore Backup" button.
