It would be helpful if you posted what problem you are experiencing. Makes troubleshooting easier.

You have a lot of unloaded kernel extensions. You might try removing/re-installing the software. Un-install using the developer’s instructions to make sure you remove all parts of the application. Some people recommend not installing an application unless you know how to remove it.

Besides stating why you felt the need to run this in the first place, you should get rid of TuneupMyMac. Almost all of these cleaning and optimization programs are not needed on a Mac, and they may end up creating severe problems.

New to site. Please be gentle. The following is the etre report when run on my ever slowing MacBook--over about 8 months. All seem to work, just slower and slower and s-l-o-w-e-r

    Problem description:

Bought this MacBook “gently used” from another teacher. Over the year’s time, it seems to have just “slowed down” when using the internet and otherwise.

    Not enough RAM.

    Virtual Memory Information: ℹ️

        37 MB    Free RAM

        1.18 GB    Active RAM

        578 MB    Inactive RAM

        356 MB    Wired RAM

        3.75 GB    Page-ins

        1.46 GB    Page-outs

Lots of Page-outs, which means physical memory is almost exhausted (37MB free) so the memory is being written to the hard drive, where it really doesn't belong--poor substitute. It will get slower and slower until it probably just freezes up completely.

You need to buy more RAM. Good places for this are OWC (macsales.com) and Crucial. Don't buy bargain RAM. Short term solution is to run fewer apps/programs concurrently.

    From http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/specs/macbook-core-2-duo-2.4-white -13-early-2008-penryn-specs.html

    2 GB6 GB*

Details:2 GB of RAM is installed as two 1 GB modules, no slots free.

*Apple officially supports a maximum of 4 GB of RAM but third-parties have been able to upgrade the system to 6 GB of RAM using one 2 GB and one 4 GB memory module.

In the US (and many other countries), site sponsor Other World Computing sells memory -- as well as other upgrades -- for this MacBook.

You have only 2GB of RAM on your 2008 Macbook, but you are running Chrome which is a huge resource hog, and Chrome updates itself on a regular basis.  It is very possible that it has been adding more and more features over the last 8 months each one demanding more and more of your Macbook's limited resources.

As it is you are averaging 4MB per minute paging to/from disk

        3.75 GB    Page-ins

        1.46 GB    Page-outs

         Time since boot: 20:34:10

That is a lot of load on your disk, which is one of the slowest components on your system.

While you do not have too many 3rd party additions installed, with only 2GB of RAM, you need to keep your system as clean as possible.

Try booting into Safe Mode which will not load the 3rd party additions and see if this affects your Macbook's behavior

    <http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564>

If this helps, you should look at removing as many of the EtreCheck listed 3rd party kernel extensions, launch daemons, launch agents, and startup items as you can.

See if you can add RAM (Crucial.com and MacSales.com (OWC) are respected Mac RAM vendors).
