iso extraction?

I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out how to extract a .iso image file. I've read other places that Toast is the way to go but they don't have a trial download. I tried disk utility which didn't work. And I'm too scared to download a free program for fear of viruses...

What should I do?!! Thanks for your time!

If you double click on your iso file, apple will mount it as another drive and you can access files that way if that is what you are trying to do. Once you are done, you can either right click on the mounted drive and select eject or drop the drive the to trash can to eject the drive which will unmount it so the iso file is no longer in use.

If you need to burn a cd/dvd from the iso image than use the disk utility as Wayne Contello shows above. With the iso image selected in the disk utility click on the Burn button at the top to burn the image to a CD/DVD.

If the image does not show up in the disk utility, you can drag and drop it into the disk utility and then you can burn the image.
