MacBook Pro won't turn on.

My late 2008 MacBook Pro Running OSX Mavericks 10.9.2. This has happened several times. Usually I take out the battery and put it back in and jiggle the hard drive. Then it usually turns on. Today it won't. Please help.

After it happened again. I decided to bring it to the apple store. Their diagnosis was that there is a logic board (motherboard) issue, and it needs to be replaced. It would be a $300 fix, but I decided against it because I'm planning on getting a new macbook pro in a month or so. I am still weary on whether or not this is actually a logic board issue. Is there anyway it could be my hard drive? I could buy an SSD for my mac for $80 or less. Do you think that could be the issue?
