Sep 12, 2014 6:39 AM in response to manfermolby tgvchile,I have exactly the same problem as Charlotte. It started like a month ago.. without me doing any change to any configuration. This is really very annoying.
I tried everything except from setting up the phone again (like a new one).
Julian, how did you do with the contacts? Did you store them somewhere? I can live with losing all content, but not my contacts...

Sep 12, 2014 6:50 AM in response to tgvchileby Juliano Schier,Yes, losing all the contacts is unacceptable.
I bought an app called "Backup" to save all in my email, but at the end it was not necessary, because I don't know how they were there after I configured as a new phone. I think it was at the ICloud or SIM,I don't have sure, but it seems that the contacts can be recovered without backup...But I advise you to purchase this app "backup" to not take any risk...

Sep 14, 2014 6:52 AM in response to manfermolby tgvchile,Thank you, Juliano.
I finally set up my phone as a new one and it solved the problem!
It is not as complicated as I feared. The contacts can be restablished by copying them from the SIM card or the cloud. When setting up the phone, the "old" apps are presented in a list for download, so you just have to click them. The only thing one loses are the (normal phone) messages and the content of some apps. On the other hand, it is a good occasion to clean up the phone ;-)

Sep 14, 2014 11:59 PM in response to tgvchileby charlotte_1989,So it is really THE solution.
Did you also lose your Whatsapp conversations, after you reinstalled it?

Sep 20, 2014 2:41 AM in response to charlotte_1989by r2thebizel,Sorry guys, but resetting your iPhone and loosing everything is NOT a solution! This would fix anything! Appreciate everyone's research and collaboration but has anyone got a real solution in that notifcations are fixed leaving the current setup intact?

Oct 2, 2014 11:12 PM in response to manfermolby kjc9847yu,I HAVE THE SOLUTION FOR THIS!
You don't have to delete anything or reinstall or format.. All you need to do is resetting your network connections in Settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. It worked for me, now I'm receiving all push-up notifications from Whatsapp, Facebook and so on normally, just like before.
Hope it+ll do the trick for you!

Nov 1, 2014 3:28 PM in response to r2thebizelby r2thebizel,Okay, it would seem that WhatsApp has not been the only app suffering from notification issues since iOS 8. So, with multiple apps having issues, I finally found that performing a soft reset (holding down the home and lock / power button until iPhone powers off) fixed the issues of all app notifications - including WhatsApp. You have to power the phone back on once it's off but hopefully this will work for other people too - and a soft reset does not erase any data.

Nov 19, 2014 2:12 AM in response to r2thebizelby ruhekincisi,I agree resetting the phone as new one is not a solution. I have tried everything but nope, it just ain't working. Just like Charlotte, it keeps getting push notifications after i close the app for 2-3 minutes, not after though. The issue must be connected to keeping the applications alive background. There's a setting for that in settings->general. But the thing is, I believe none of us changed any setting before this problem occurs. But something must be bugged to prevent apps staying alive in background if i'm getting messages after i close the app for 2-3 mins.Than its just shuts off itself. I have a 64GB phone and lots and lots of folders and settings and apps that i can't be bothered to set the phone as a new one. And yes, its NOT a solution, just a walkaround.
I hope someone can step up with a solution.
Cheers.

Nov 19, 2014 10:38 PM in response to ruhekincisiby r2thebizel,Did you try the soft reset as stated in my previous post? This won't erase any data and fixed the issue for me?

Nov 20, 2014 4:18 AM in response to r2thebizelby ruhekincisi,Yeah tried everything more than once. Btw, i have this push notification problem universal, not just whatsapp, fb etc. is not functioning push-wise.

Nov 20, 2014 4:25 AM in response to ruhekincisiby r2thebizel,An odd one then as mine was universal too. The only other thing I could suggest is turning all notofications off, then doing a soft reset, then turning them back on? Other than that I'm at a loss with that - my phone is a 5s if they helps (ie: incase yours is not and may be that's the dinference?)

Nov 28, 2014 1:41 AM in response to r2thebizelby charlotte_1989,Hello everybody,
So, I just had a new iPhone 5S, and when I set it up I used the back up from my old iPhone (where the whatsapp wasn't working anymore) and now everything works fine. So, I think the problem came from the iPhone itself, unfortunately.
Cheers,
Charlotte
