I have an Iphone 5c through US Cellular, and I am able to recieve emojis in the imessage, but not through text messaging, whenever the conversation is green, emojis will not appear, it is just a blank text. I know other people who are able to recieve emojis through text message, so I am wondering if there is a way to fix it, or what is going on. Any help would be great!

Emoji's are only a function of iPhone's and only work through iMessage
You have to enable emoji keyboard from under settings_general_keyboard_keyboards_add new keyboard and then select emoji in list
after enabling you will find it in enabled keyboard list and then click sphere icon on your keyboard for emoji keyboard

You can not send emojis over SMS. Period.
Only an iPhone to iPhone thing.
Unlike what was stated above, emojis ARE NOT just for iphones any longer. I have an android through AT&T with an emoji keyboard downloaded on it and many of my friends have iphone devices through AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, etc. My neighbor has an iphone 5c through US Cellular and she is the only one who is unable to see emojis from my android device. They either show up blank or as strange symbols.
Depends on the Android device I suppose. Assuming the Android can run Jelly Bean, it actually is possible, you are correct.
