ticking sound from bottom left of 24" LED Cinema Display - is it coming to the end of its life?

I'm using a 2010 24" LED Cinema Display, and noticed yesterday that it has started to make a ticking sound from the bottom left.

It seems to make the noise more when there is something moving on screen i.e. mouse movement, a video playing...its very annoying!!

I've seen from old posts from 2009 that there were similar issues when this screen was first brought out.

Is the noise a signal that after 4 years of very good use the screen is coming to the end of its life?
