Q: How can I delete bulk old emails from iPad?

I have a huge build-up in unread mail on my ipad mainly because I routinely read mail on my iMac.

 

Does anyone know how I can delete 1600 emails without doing so separately?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
