Apr 24, 2014 9:28 PM in response to normanhoffmannby Jay-Ray,If you are on iOS 7 you can open the inbox, choose edit, then choose mark all, mark all as read. This will at least make your messages all become read as I assume they are on your Mac.
As far as deletion, there is no Delete All option in the Mail app. One way you can delete all is to log into your email account on the internet portal and clear off whatever emails you don't want form the email server there. If you are using a Mac, your CMD+A functions will usually work to help you complete this task quickly.
Once all the emails are removed form the server, on the iPad, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Tapyour email account and turn mail off (or delete account if there is no mail switch). Power cycle the iPad then go back to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and turn mail back on or add account if you deleted it before. This will make the iPad query the email server and pull down only those emails that are left on the server (if you didn;t delete them all).
I hope this helps!
