How to capture entire window on MPB with Mavericks 10.9.2.
Neither Grab nor Snapshot capture entire window-even though Grab claims that ability. Is there some way to do it?
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2), installation

Is there something special about the window you are trying to capture? Grab gets entire windows for me.
Dominic23...thanks for the easy instructions. Used them-including Cammand + Tab to move through the window-but highlighting would only capture to bottom of screen. It will not scroll past that to capture rest of information in window.
markwmsn...just need the whole window-including portion below screen- and Grab window doesn't do it. Anything lower than the bottom of the screen cannot be accessed. Don't understand as its illogical that it would work on your system and not this one.
Odd. It definitely gets the whole window for me, including the portion that is off the screen
Now, it only gets the part of the document that shows in the window. Is that what you mean, by any chance?
Thanks but no. When on an internet page that extends below bottom of screen, Grab will not scroll down past the bottom edge and pick up what's off screen...as it does for you. Could it be the difference in MBP's? Mine's late 2007 and working fine with Mavericks 10.9.2.
Indeed, Grab does no scrolling. I just captures what's showing in the window, whether that part of the window is on screen or off. If an internet page doesn't fit in the window, Grab can't capture all of it.
If you want to capture all of an internet page in Safari, use Print > PDF > "Save PDF to folder as JPEG" (or TIFF).

Mark,
Do you have that PDF option natively or did it come with some sort of installer package: I don't have it and could really use it at times!

You don't have a "PDF" button in the lower left corner of your print dialogs, or it doesn't have a "Save PDF to folder as JPEG" option?
The "PDF" button has been part of OS X since at least Snow Leopard.

A quick search reveals a few mentions of "Save PDF to folder as JPEG" going back over five years, often as a query of why it isn't working. Turns out it's an Automator workflow, and it seems to get lost sometimes.
Here's a link to a page that purports to help you restore it and one associated with Aperture:
(I say "purports" because I have the workflow, so I haven't tested the fix.)
I wonder if "Save PDF to folder as JPEG" might be something installed with (recent versions of) Aperture. It seems to come up in combination with a "Save PDF to Aperture" workflow.
near the sea,
In light of that exchange with Clinton, I'll offer another route if you don't have a Save PDF to folder as JPEG" option in the PDF button of your print dialog"
1. Use "Save as PDF" to make a PDF in a temporary location.
2. Open the PDF in Preview.
3. Use "Save as..." or "Export..." to create the JPEG.
If these are web pages, try donationware Paparazzi!
Thanks markwmsn. Saving as a PDF works perfectly, capturing all the information on an Internet page, no matter how long it is. Finally the answer I needed!
Thank you for your contribution mns579. It tuns out to be unnecessary as saving as a PDF works just fine.
