Why does my I pad not ring when I have a FaceTime call

There have been many, many users reporting problems with FaceTime since April 16th. This was Apple's response to the problems.

It doesn't deal with sound issues however. Can you still make and receive FaceTime calls with no other issues? Are you getting all other notification sounds?

This used to show up as a question with some frequency - but i havent seen it in the last year. used to be a pad 2 issue, and I see you have a pad 2. While i had the pad 2, that would be a problem from time to time - but went away, and I was never clear on the cause.

So - the basics. You have already checked in notifications, and the alert spound is on. Ringer and alerts volume slider is not all the way down? (this is the only app that uses the ringer - as far as I know)

System sounds are on? (pad is not muted)

I would suggest you continue to play around with the settings. (You can facetime yourself from your iphone -if you are so equipped - so quick tests are easy)

I had an issue with my IPAD not ringing with an incoming Facetime call. My issue was solved by going to Settings > Sounds. I turned up the volume on Ringer and alerts. that did the trick!

I Thought all was good on my V2 iPad but I didn't realise the small button on the top right side was switched to the mute position.

DOh !!!

It is that mute is on. iPad 2 does not have a button like iPhone. On the screen swipe up. The mute button is there.

My wife had the same problem on her iPad mini iOS 9.3.5 May seem too obvious but tried everything it turned out she had put the mute switch on !!

Would you please tell me how to fix this problem. I have checked all the settings my iPad will not ring when I receive a FaceTime call. It rings when I make a FaceTime call
