I have a device that requires an encryption key. I'm using WEP with a password but no encryption key can be found in the AirPort Utility. Other Devices would give me that information when I entered the password.
Is there a way to find the key?
This is a very long "Password" key, but not the encryption key I'm looking for. The Encryption key should be an eight digit hex number. It's easy to find on other devices when you enter a WEP password. Usually the next screen will give you four of these keys to use. I find no such option on the AirPort Extreme.
What version of AirPort Utility?
Try click on the Base Station menu, then click Show Passwords and your "key".....if available for WEP.....will be revealed.
Sorry, I am not aware of any other "keys" on any Apple routers.
