Mac mini is connect directly to a router with a 50mb/s bandwidth. Why does iTunes continuously stop playback to return to the menu screen? How can I tell it to stop stopping my playback? This is beyond frustrating and the cloud isn't worth the time / effort if Apple forces download and redownload of every purchase just to watch it.
Does this have anything to do with Apple TV? If not you will have better luck posting this in the Mac and/or iTunes section.

I'm experiencing exactly the same issue... Mac Mini dropping playback of movies and TV shows streamed from iTunes in the cloud. Tried the mini both wired and wireless connection to net using apple time capsule. Have a 100mb connection to net so no issues with bandwidth.
Really frustrating. Also tried a clean install of Mavericks in case it was local machine related but this has made no difference.
Any suggestions?

Not sure if a related problem but if I try to download the movie rather than stream - the download is often stopped with a prompt saying something like connection was reset.
