Is it possible to get the exact model of a product manufactured by Apple using its MAC address alone?
Didn't know where to really put this, but if anyone could help me out I'd much appreciate it.

The MAC address is for networking and, if you set up your router that way, to protect your wireless network.
The model identifier is more than likely what you want and/or you can look up your Mac here including the original buikd number(s):
Thanks for your response.
I was just curious because I was able to enter MAC addresses into a database online and this yielded information on the manufacturer of the device with the MAC address I entered. I can get more specific if that would help. I was just wondering if more information could be gleaned from the MAC address about the exact product.
Yes, getting more specific would help - a link to the database?
I use MAC authentication to protect my wireless network, in other words no device can use my network unless their MAC address has been entered and authorized in my modem/router online settings. I just now copied my printer's MAC address and googled that and the only results were some jibberish.
You might want to have a look at MAC address - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia for a description of how MAC addresses are assigned and what they mean.
Basically part of the MAC address will identify the manufacturer, the rest of the address can be used as the manufacturer sees fit as long as it is unique.
So it is possible some manufacturers might encode the device into the MAC address but it is not universal or mandatory.
Interesting - thanks, learned something new!
