Apr 28, 2014 10:11 AM in response to Sackmby pjl123,Most folks are not having the problem, so it is likely that this is not a ios 7 issue, but more related to your specific set up. You said you rebooted, and reset network settings - have you rebooted the router, and is the router firmware current?

Apr 28, 2014 10:15 AM in response to pjl123by Shelby Denike,My issue only started happening after updating to 7.1.1. I have reset network settings, rebooting iPhone, rebooted Airport Extreme and made sure it has the newest firmware as well. My iPhone is the only device on my network having issues (iPad Mini works fine, so does my Macbook Air, and Macbook pro).

Apr 28, 2014 2:09 PM in response to Sackmby jamesvincent,Starting with my connection at home...
I have BT Infinity, with a Draytek 2850n VDSL Modem Router. I run my own DHCP and DNS servers separately from the Draytek.
Prior to 7.1.1 I had spent a long time ensuring the WLAN channel I run on was clear of neighbours and others in the vicinity. I had got to a stage where the Wifi was fast, stable and strong.
Along comes 7.1.1, and that all goes out of the window. I carried out further testing, and moved my WLAN channel further up the range, as there were a couple more SSIDs in the area that were on similar channels.
I enabled 5GHz too, and that didnt help either... as the Draytek can only do 2.4 OR 5, I switched back to 2.4.
The signal strength is fine, but if you try and do a sustained transfer (ie. Youtube upload), it gets so far and bombs. I had it fail 3 out of 4 attempts. All the while, my iPad mini (1st Gen) running iOS 7.1 and Macbook (latest updates), remain connected. The logs in the router don't show a drop either.
My server, router and phone have all been reset - numerous times, the problem remains.
My wives i4 and iPad 2 are fine, but the phones on 7.1 still... (not sure about the iPad 2)
...and then my parents...
Who are also on BT Infinity, but use a HomeHub 5. The signal was stronger, but I was next to the hub. The connection however, was still as flakey. Switching back to 3G during heavy Wifi use. (Youtube upload).
...and then work...
I sit right below a Cisco Aironet, prior to 7.1.1, I had no issues. With the latest iOS, the connection is slow, and often becomes unresponsive and eventually drops back to 3G.
So...............

Apr 28, 2014 3:17 PM in response to Shelby Denikeby TheatreGnat,I'm glad it's working for you now. Perhaps I'll have the same luck with my iPad2. My other iPad2 works fine all over the house. The problem iPad's WiFi only works a foot from the router! All the best to you!

Apr 29, 2014 1:03 AM in response to Sackmby Rangertwozero ,Im having the exact same problem with wifi. I have a iphone 5. also my battery is being destroyed i drop like 10% in an hour of not using the phone. What the **** is going on with these software updatse do they not test these things before they release? them i paid over €500 for the hardware and then they ruin it with their software. This seems to be the norm these day companys releasing software that seems to be untested it may not affect everyone but its the look of the draw if it affects you its like they are chancing their arm. Oh and to all those that are resetting their own networks and the like, its not your network its the NEW UPDATE so dont go resetting anything but the phone or ipad. its not YOUR FAULT its APPLES FAULTY SOFTWARE.

Apr 29, 2014 7:24 AM in response to Nonameinvaby krÔmo,I have the same problem on both iphone 4s and ipad3. My wifi module is totally unstable and wifi have been grayed out in my system.
In my opinion it is absolutely a 7.1.1 issue, because it was working fine before the upgrade. I suspect it may be related to the wifi module temperature and the 7.1.1 drivers who may be more sensitive to it and disable the module after the temp reaches some level. My wifi started to work again when I disabled my phone and put it into a drawer for and hour, to let my phone to cool down.
Please check the same and let me know if it works for you.

Apr 29, 2014 3:40 PM in response to Sackmby digisync,Has anyone tried renewing their IP lease under Settings > WiFi > Network SSID?
Once you tap on your network name, it's the button that says "Renew Lease"

Apr 29, 2014 4:28 PM in response to digisyncby Nonameinva,Yes, I tried that. Nope, it didn't do anything.
I ordered a Securifi Almond router/repeater. $90 that I should not have had to spend. Thanks Apple.
