Battery recall

Today, Apple announced a recall of certain batteries manufactured (for Apple) by Sony Corporation which might be defective. I checked Apple's web site, and my Powerbook 12" battery is definitely in the range of affected serial numbers (it starts with 3K501.) Yet when I put in the information to request a replacement battery, my battery's serial number is rejected.

Is anyone else having this problem? Is the web page for battery exchange not working properly? Or is the information on affected batteries incorrect? I tried to call Apple but after going through the phone menu tree I get a message that due to "technical difficulties" they can't help me.
