Apr 26, 2014 10:22 AM in response to LCohenby stevejobsfan0123,Well there you have it. Sharing an Apple ID is not a good idea. Go to http://appleid.apple.com and make sure every family member has their own ID. Then enter it under Settings > Messages > Send & Receive.

Apr 26, 2014 10:23 AM in response to LCohenby Chris CA,Each having your own AppleID makes things much simpler to have your own data..
Also, each of you go to Settings > Messages - Send & Receive at and make sure only the phone number is ticked.
If you cannot set it or turn off the others, Settings > Messages, turn off iMessage, wait a minute then turn it back on.

Apr 26, 2014 10:24 AM in response to stevejobsfan0123by LCohen,Thanks. Well, the next problem is how we are going to share contacts. I can no longer under ios7 directly update the main computer with contacts and I have to go through the icloud. How do you share contacts with different iclouds?

Just update them on your computer or your iPhone or in iCloud and they will update everywhere else.
You can add other iCloud accounts for Contacts.
Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and add the new iCloud accounts, then turn on Contacts.

Apr 26, 2014 10:51 AM in response to Chris CAby LCohen,I think I found the real culprit. My contacts had my daughter's name as a "nickname."

Apr 26, 2014 11:12 AM in response to LCohenby Chris CA,That's a problem when sharing contacts.
If I have my daughters shared contacts on my phone and my ex calls me, it shows Mom calling.
Much easier for everyone to maintain their own contacts.
After all, you won't care about 90% of the contacts your daughters have and vice-versa.
