Trying to add my hotmail calendar to the iMac how do I do this?

How do I add or share my hotmail calendar which is now through Outlook, but still has hotmail email address with the iMac. I shared with my iPad with no problems, but there is no choice on the iMac for Outlook or Hotmail, when I try to add or share I have had no luck, which doesn't seem right when I had no problem with the iPad and they are all supposed to be so in sync. I am a novice, appreciate an help or expertise you have on this subject.

You can't, Outlook.com does not support it on a Mac.

Bummer, but thanks! Doesn't make sense, it works on iPad and not iMac, so much for everything being in sync! Thanks again...

Microsoft chose ActivSync for IOS devices, but not for Macs or PC's so only the IOS devices will sync Calendars.

Silly decision, but that's Microsoft for you.

You could use a more flexible mail system, one that allows sync of Contacts and Calendars with your Mac and your IOS devices.

Thanks so much, you have been a big help. One of the many reasons when Microsoft quit supporting XP in April we jumped ship to Apple, I am tired of supporting Microsoft with no support or caring back from them. Thanks for all your help. You are great!

Thanks, but I am glad I don't have to explain why it doesn't work on Windows either, especially to a Windows user 🙂

If you consider changing there are 2 outstanding alternatives, iCloud itself (obviously) and Microsoft Exchange (which works on a Mac, a PC and IOS devices (Android devices too if you have to)

iCloud is free but Exchange is the most solid business system, MS bill for it per user so it can get expensive.

Correction:

Microsoft now support ActivSync on a PC but only if Outlook 2013 is installed.
