Q: Phone cannot connet to cellular network

After updating to IOS 7.1.1 my Iphone 5 cannot connet to the cellular network. WiFI is working but not the phone. It seems like it cannot recognize the SIM card and therfore dont know my own number or the operator. Any idea how to solve this?
