So one moment I lock my phone, and the next moment I turn it on again to unlock it. Then I see this: I'm currently studying abroad in Greece, on a small Island in the middle of nowhere, (no apple store!), so... what the heck is going on? And how do I fix it? I need this phone to work! help please.

It looks like you are unable to use the phone because of this graphic issue on your phone. I would start by resetting your phone with this process:
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If the issue persists, I would next attempt putting your device into Recovery mode to see if the issue persists on that screen:
- Turn off your device. If you can't turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time and wait a few seconds for it to turn off.
- Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
- Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
- When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button.
