My iPad mini becomes unstable. The screen starts jumping around and other apps start running. If I turn it off and restart, it's okay for a little while. Does anyone know what's happening or how to fix it?

Anyone having problems with their ipad becoming unstable? My iPad mini becomes unstable and the apps on the screen starting jumping around, the content keeps changing and I even have new apps starting up. I just installed the latest OS version, but no help. When it happens, I close all the apps, shut down the iPad, wait a minute or so, and restart. Things are okay for about 20-30 minutes - then it starts acting up again.

At first I thought I was having a memory issue and was encountering some type of memory thrashing. However, I'm only opening a few apps now and only have a few tabs open in safari. That should use all 16gb of memory.

Anyone have suggestions? Thanks!

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

I have had exactly the same problem now with two mini iPads. Everything was tried; 1) restarting; 2) restoring factory settings etc. NONE worked. Eventually Apple agreed to replace it. I have had the replacement now for two to three months and exactly the same thing is happening again. So off to Apple tomorrow to get another replacement.

I am quite a heavy user of the iPad so wonder if this is something to do with the fault.

It is so frustrating as sometimes reset works, and then after 10/20/30/40 minutes (you pick) it goes unstable again.

Problem is moisture in ipad. They are not the least bit moisture proof and moisture gets under the screen and in the port.. Take your cover off .put it on charge so it warms. It will dry in a day. Dont bother taking it to Apple .All they know is how to reset which is useless Apple needs to redesign the ipad so it is at least water resistant. A $20 watch is water resistant so why cant Apple do it? They can get rid of the silly external volume and rotation switches for a start and just use the screen. A port cover would also be useful.
