I downloaded my rental on my windows PC, and wish to transfer or move it to my windows laptop. I have Apple TV, and Icloud. How do I transfer or move the movie?

I downloaded my rental movie onto my windows PC, and wish to transfer or move it to my lap top or apple TV so I can play it on my big screen TV monitor. Itunes says that they will let me do this, but they don't tell me how to do it or maybe I am suppose to figure it out intuitively. At any rate, how do I transfer the rental download from my windows PC to Windows laptop so I can play it on big screen. I have an Apple TV hooked to big screen also, and if I could figure out how to transfer the download to the apple TV, I could play it on big screen from the apple TV. I didn't download directly to my laptop or apple TV because they both use a wireless connection which is slower and less reliable than the PC's Ethernet connection. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Gadaleto,

Welcome to the Support Communities!

With Home Sharing enabled on your desktop PC and Apple TV, you can watch your movie rental by streaming it to your Apple TV over your home Wi-Fi. Here is some information on setting it up:

Understanding Home Sharing

Home Sharing enables you to stream or transfer music, movies, TV shows, apps, and more among up to five authorized computers in your household. To do so, you will need to turn on Home Sharing on each computer using the same Apple ID. Once set up, all the libraries from these computers will show up in the Shared area of iTunes:

Can I play my rental on more than one device?

If you download a rented movie on your computer: You can transfer it to a device such as your Apple TV (1st generation), iPhone, iPad, or iPod if it’s a standard-definition film (movies in HD can only be watched on your computer, iPad, iPhone 4 or later, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV). Once you move the movie from your computer to a device, the movie will disappear from your computer's iTunes library. You can move the movie between devices as many times as you wish during the rental period, but the movie can only exist on one device at a time.

If you download a rented movie on your iPhone 4 or later, iPad, iPod touch (4th generation or later), or Apple TV: It is not transferable to any other device or computer.
