iTunes match multiple libraries

Hello, everyone.

I have a diverse music library and subscibe to iTunes Match. I use iTunes on MacBook, iPad and iPhone.

I'd like to move Holiday and Classical genres out to their own libraries and delete them from the main one. I do not want these two new libraries live in the cloud, all the time, only now and then, so that most of the time they are not on my mobile devices. I do not care about keeping ratings, play counts, etc.

I have done the first step of creating the new libraries, and they are both empty. Please help with the easiest way to finish this setup, and pitfalls I should be aware of.

Thanks for any advice/help you can offer.

iTunes Match creates one library; if you have multiple libraries on your computer, iTunes Match will just add all the files from each one, then show you the contents of all the libraries. The best thing is to just remove those files when you don't want to listen to them, then add them back when you do.

Though if you're not near the 25,000 track limit, there's no real benefit to doing that, other than clearing out some stuff from your library.
