can anyone confirm a fix has been implemented by apple yet for HDCP error ????

There is no fix to implement. The monitor (TV) must support HDCP.

My monitor (HP 27xi) does support HDCP, at least according to HP, but I am also getting the handshake error (connection doesn't support HDCP). I've tried several cables, all of which work with a Roku 3, but still no luck. It would seem to me, since the Roku 3 works with my monitor and cable thst the fault must be with the Apple TV.

Problem solved. I finally got the Apple TV working by connecting it to a Panasonic TV. I noticed that the automatic update was off so I turned it on and also did an update, which apparently fixed the HDCP problem. When I hooked the Apple TV back on the HP 27Xi it worked OK.
