My daughter locked my phone to where i have to connect to itunes to disable it. however, it seems itunes is not picking up my phone and saying to restore access please respond to your phone and there is nothing on my phone

Thanks for the easy to understand information. I have one additional question. I am having to Restore because the phone has never been synced to our new PC, which is fine and easy to understand. My phone won't shut off. I keep shutting it off and it just restarts. How do I get the restore done if I can't get my phone to shut down?
