I downloaded some Apple updates. Now when I turn on my iMac, I get a grey screen, spinner, and progress bar. When the progress bar finishes, the computer shuts down a short while later. I'd appreciate any help.

If your data is not backed up, how old is the computer?
Startup - Gray, Blue or White screen at boot, w/spinner/progress bar
