Downgrading carrier settings from 4G to 3G

Hi

Hi

Three days ago my iPhone 5s prompted me an update for my carrier settings, so I did without really knowing what this update meant.

The update included a change for my toggle to enable/disable 3G, it changed into 4G.

Since I always use EDGE because 3G drains my battery too much, I never enable it. After the update, when I disable 4G, it automatically switches to 3G, which is equally battery absorbing.

So I restored my iPhone to a backup before the update so I would get my EDGE data network back but the new settings are still there.

Yesterday I contacted my carrier about this issue but they say it's all on Apple.

I hope one of you guys have more knowledge about this topic...

Thanks

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.1.1, 4G, data network, 3G, EDGE
