Q: I don't want to lose all my media and other data...Is this the only way to restore my iPhone?

I don't want to lose all my media and other data by restoring my my iPhone5 via iTunes...it says it's in recovery mode...this happened while downloading the recent ios7.1

PLEASE HELP! I'm a doula on call and I have all my client data and apps in this phone.

If you have all of your data backed up, which you should, then after the restore, you can restore to a backup. Unfortunately, with the device in recovery mode, the data is already lost. Your only choice is to restore.
