Q: Apple ID question

why can't I use the same Apple ID for iCloud that I use for iTunes?

    You can use the same ID.

    You can. What makes you think you can't? If you are seeing an error message of some sort, please quote it, or describe exactly what you are trying to do and what the result is (or isn't).

    At the 'Manage Apple ID', I sign in with my email address (which I want to change to the same one I have for iTunes). Then at 'Apple ID & Primary email Address (see below) I click on 'edit' but when I enter the new email address (ID) that I want to use, I get the message that it is already in use (see below). Obviously I am missing something here. Thanks for your help.

    It's not a good idea to post your email address in a public forum, even in images, and I've asked the Hosts to remove them.

     

    You have an ID you are signing in with in iTunes. All you need to do is to go to System Preferences>iCloud and sign in with the same ID. If you are signed into iCloud with another ID you will have to sign out first. If you have data in that account you will need to transfer it manually to the iCloud account you want to use. You can't move an @icloud.com email address between accounts.
