Apr 28, 2014 3:24 PM in response to Bailey207by Johnathan Burger,Works fine for me and has from the start.
I do not know a single person iMessage does not work for.
User to user forum, weak threats about switching to other devices are pointless.
Did you do any troubleshooting to fix the issue or did you go straight to throwing a tantrum?

Apr 28, 2014 3:27 PM in response to Bailey207by ssschmidt,So. Instead of switching to a samsung phone which will allow SMS messages, why not just turn iMessage OFF and use SMS/MMS messages? The iPhone can do that. No samsung required.

Not throwing a "tantrum" just saying apple with be losing consumers if they don't fix this problem. I easily know 7 people who have this iMessage problem where it says "waiting for activation" and doesn't work.

1. You can still use iMessage, just not with the phone number. It will still work with your apple ID email address.
2. Make sure that your carrier supports SMS messages. When you turn on iMessage to use with your phone number, an SMS message validates your phone number with imessage. If you are waiting for activation, then your device has not received the SMS. Check with your carrier to make sure your account supports SMS.
