Transfering music from old ipod classic to new pc

My old pc is now in computer heaven and I do not have my itunes library anymore. Despite a backup copy being used on my new computer i could not access it and the itunes library comes up blank. I followed the instructions on this site and manually copied music from my old ipod classic to a new pc. Only some of the music from my ipod copied over. It is still on the ipod but did not transfer to itunes on my new pc. am using itunes 11. i have about 45GB of music which i want to obviously recover.
