Problem playing Channel 4od

I've had my mac for about 5 months and channel 4od worked perfectly. Yesterday I tried to play it and it failed to play properly. The adverts played seemlessly however when it comes to the actual program it either fails to play completely or plays in fragments in a glitchy/unwatchable manner. This shouldn't be down to my internet connection as I can watch both netflix and bbc iplayer without any problems at all.

Does anyone have any ideas on what has gone wrong here?

Help would be much appreciated!

From the menu bar, select

 ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced

and click Delete All. Close the preference pane.

From the Safari menu bar, select

Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data

and confirm. Test.

If you use a FireWire audio interface, disconnect it and test again.

Thanks for your reply! I have followed your instructions however the problem still persists. To elaborate, a few seconds after the adverts have finished the program usually starts and both sound and video are present. However afer a few seconds the video will freeze (and then intermitantly play in a glitchy fashion) , but the sound usually carries on. When I attempt to close the screen, the mac becomes unresponsive for a few seconds.

There seems to be a problem playing any video on the channel 4od website. But the first program I noticed the problem with was http://www.channel4.com/programmes/fargo/4od#3690578.

I can't access the content on that site because it's restricted by region. I suggest you first restart your router and broadband device, if different, and if there's no change, test on another network, such as a public Wi-Fi hotspot.

John,

Having the exact same problem here too. glitchy video, audio continues to play. Happens after about a minute or two of playing and ONLY on 4oD.

Tried updating and reinstalling flash player but to no avail.

Running a mid 2010 MBP on Mavericks 10.9.3 and tried using safari and Firefox but same thing happens everytime.

To be honest, ever since I upgraded to Mavericks i've had issues with my MBP. Getting a bit fed up of it and now tempted to reinstall Mountain Lion...
