They usually required the jumper to be set a certain way to support the slower bus speeds of the G5, if they worked at all internally.If I remember there also was a fan sensor to attach to the drive.

The jumper has been set but no boot via usb and the sensor (for drive's temperature) is connected...maybe have to be install once again to confirm...
