Is Nissan Connect essentially CarPlay? (Canada)

I'm looking into purchasing a 2014 Nissan Rogue. (I have an iPhone 5s)

After reading about Apple's CarPlay on Apple's website, it is to be available on Nissan's (upcoming) I then checked out the Nissan website.

They have Nissan Connect... I can't tell if I can get Apple's CarPlay, if Nissan created this Nissan Connect as a different option, and more importantly, will CarPlay be an upgrade, or a download on the 2014 Rogue?

It may have some similar functions, but it is not CarPlay. Whether Nissan will offer a CarPlay-compatible system as an after-sale replacement is something you would have to ask them.

They don't . Nissan connect is not a very good choice as I have tested on a new Nissan Rogue , it leaves a lot to be desired.Not sure why automakers of the caliber of Nissan and Toyota are not coming to embrace the CarPlay technology . This will have a big impact on how I will choose my next vehicle😉
