cannot see airplay symbol in iTunes

I cannot get airplay to show in iTunes.

Part of problem is amber flashing light on airport express, plugged driectly into stereo. Was working fine, now I cannot get amber lights to stop flashing

iMac (27-inch Late 2009), iOS 7.1.1
