Q: Did i finaly get rid of Genieo?
Hi
The usual story, Genieo jumped between my download, I accidently downloaded and grief followed...
However I think I managed to finally get rid of it...
To be sure,.... If I can't find any of these files -- by searching in the search bit in finder?? or is there another way to search for paths?? -- I'm Genieo all clear?
/Applications/Genieo
/Applications/Uninstall Genieo
/Applications/Uninstall IM Completer.app
~/Library/Application Support/com.genieoinnovation.Installer/
~/Library/Application Support/Genieo/
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.download.plist
~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.update.plist
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieoinnovation.macextension.plist
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieoinnovation.macextension.client.plist
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.engine.plist
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.genieo.completer.update.plist
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.genieoinnovation.macextension.client.plist
/Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.genieoinnovation.macextension.client
/usr/lib/libgenkit.dylib
/usr/lib/libgenkitsa.dylib
/usr/lib/libimckit.dylib

If you mean Spotlight, then no, that won't locate them as standard.
In 10.6.8 you need to select each line you posted, then right (control) click it & choose Services - Reveal
Try it first, with this, but don't remove it.
~/Library/Safari/TopSites.plist
If a file exists in that location (and it normally will) : a Finder window should open, with it selected.
If it doesn't exist : a Finder popup saying 'The operation can’t be completed because the item can’t be found.'
Note that /Applications/Uninstall Genieo & /Applications/Genieo probably won't work, since the actual item is named .app
just as /Applications/Safari doesn't work, but /Applications/Safari.app does.
Those are simple to locate in Finder, of course... but you need to be careful.
