The usual story, Genieo jumped between my download, I accidently downloaded and grief followed...

However I think I managed to finally get rid of it...

To be sure,.... If I can't find any of these files -- by searching in the search bit in finder?? or is there another way to search for paths?? -- I'm Genieo all clear?

/Applications/Uninstall Genieo

/Applications/Uninstall IM Completer.app

~/Library/Application Support/com.genieoinnovation.Installer/

~/Library/Application Support/Genieo/

Clarification question - have you found the files or are you still looking for them? You shouldn't have to search in Finder because you have the path to the files location. For example, Applications folder Genieo.

    >>...the search bit in finder??

If you mean Spotlight, then no, that won't locate them as standard.

In 10.6.8 you need to select each line you posted, then right (control) click it & choose Services - Reveal

Try it first, with this, but don't remove it.

If a file exists in that location (and it normally will) : a Finder window should open, with it selected.

If it doesn't exist : a Finder popup saying 'The operation can’t be completed because the item can’t be found.'

Note that /Applications/Uninstall Genieo & /Applications/Genieo probably won't work, since the actual item is named .app

just as /Applications/Safari doesn't work, but /Applications/Safari.app does.

Those are simple to locate in Finder, of course... but you need to be careful.

Looks like you got most of it, or at least the parts that will actively load and run programs in your system. If you missed a configuration file or two then these will not harm anything by just being there, but from my experiences it appears you got everything that Genieo installs.

    Thanks guys you are great!

Right click "reveal" was a good tip, I found below 3 cheeky left-overs

    ~/Library/Application Support/com.genieoinnovation.Installer/

I'll happily dump these and back to normal phew..

Well done, it's best to get rid of every last active part.
